VR Sailors - MarineVerse Community: JJ
Ahoy!
Welcome to the twenty fifth post in the series “VR Sailors - MarineVerse Community” – introducing sailors racing in MarineVerse Sailing Club.

Today, we are chatting with JJ, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
JJ races in Yacht Pro and is currently #4 in Canada (as of 17 December 2025) and in Globe sailing his cruiser Canada XXVII.
JJ recently won the SF to Valparaiso Globe race!
We have asked JJ a couple of questions..
What is your sailing experience? “Learning how to sail (late start).”
What is your favourite sailing memory? “Being on the water during the 37th America’s Cup final in Barcelona and having the opportunity to sail on the double America’s Cup winning boat Intrepid in Newport.”

Tell us something about your experience with MarineVerse Sailing Club? Any good memories or highlights? “I’m enjoying seeing myself get better (slowly).”
Who and why should try MarineVerse Sailing? “Anyone interested in sailing or looking to put theory into practice.”
Any tips for those new to sailing that want to race in MarineVerse? “Don’t get discouraged racing in the daily races… it takes some time but you’ll see improvements.”

MarineVerse Sailing Club is all about the community. If you would like to try sailing, join us. You can meet VR sailors at our Discord chat server, and you can download MarineVerse Sailing Club on Steam or via the Meta Quest store.
We hope you enjoyed this blog post in the “VR Sailors - MarineVerse Community” series – stay tuned for more soon!
